Dec polls: Be transparent, impartial – Group to EC

A group known as Group Stands for Peace and Development has highlighted the critical importance of transparency in the upcoming December 7 polls to prevent potential violence from disgruntled party members and their supporters.
Responding to a recent statement by the chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Madam Jean Mensa, who urged political parties to accept the election results in good faith, the group stressed that the EC must act as an impartial referee during the elections.
In their statement, the group called for the EC to maintain independence and impartiality in the discharge of their duties.
They recommended that the EC embark on a comprehensive educational campaign nationwide to ensure the populace is actively engaged and well-informed about electoral procedures.
The group believes that such measures will enhance the credibility of the electoral process and foster peace and development in the country.
