Former Kumbungu MP wins Northern Regional Council of State seat

Former Member of Parliament for Kumbungu Constituency in the Northern Region, Muhammad Mumuni, has been elected as the Northern Region’s representative on the Council of State.
Lawyer Mumuni as he's affectionately called was running mate to late President John Evans Atta-Mills in the 2024 general elections
In a keenly contested election held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Lawyer Mumuni emerged victorious, securing the mandate to serve as an advisor to President John Dramani Mahama on critical national issues.
His election has been met with widespread congratulations from supporters and political stakeholders, who recognize his experience and dedication to public service.
As a member of the Council of State, Lawyer Mumuni is expected to contribute his expertise in governance and law to the advisory body, playing a crucial role in shaping national policies and decision-making.
