I'm very friendly and open; never arrogant – Afriyie Akoto says he'll serve Ghana 'even if it costs me an arm and a leg'
Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto has said contrary to the perception held by the public that he is arrogant, he is a very affable politician.
The former minister of agriculture told an audience at a lecture at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, that: “I’m passionate to serve my mother Ghana with all that is within me even if it costs me an arm and a leg."
He added: "For those who know me, I’m known to be confident, very passionate and have very strong views on many subjects."
The flag bearer aspirant of the governing New Patriotic Party then clarified: "Frequently, I have often been perceived as arrogant and too serious, but that is far from the reality".
"In fact, I’m a very friendly person, very open,” he stated.
Dr Afriyie Akoto, who resigned a few months agonto pursue his presidential ambition, revealed that he has been campaigning on the quiet
“I’m moved by the immense support that I have received so far, ever since I announced my intentions to contest the flagbearership race of the NPP".
"I never knew there were so many people who have quietly followed my political progress over the years and continue to believe in me”, he noted.
Dr Afriyie Akoto said he has toured the whole country to market himself to the delegates.
