Kwahu Afram Plains South MP appeals for stakeholder support to complete key development projects
The Member of Parliament for Kwahu Afram Plains South Constituency in the Eastern Region, Joseph Appiah Boateng, has appealed to key stakeholders to support the successful execution and completion of several development projects initiated in the constituency, following a sod-cutting ceremony to commence major infrastructure works.
The projects include the construction of a two-storey boys’ and girls’ dormitory block for Maame Krobo Community Day Senior High School, a six-unit classroom block for Maame Krobo Methodist Basic School, a dining hall with a kitchen at St. Fidelis Senior High School, and the construction of a road linking Kwame Pong Nkwanta to the Ashanti Region.
Addressing residents at the ceremony, Mr. Appiah Boateng called on traditional authorities, the youth, community members and development partners to rally behind the projects to ensure their timely completion.
He observed that the Afram Plains South District continues to face significant challenges in education, healthcare, road infrastructure and general development, making sustained collaboration critical.
The MP stressed that sod-cutting ceremonies must go beyond symbolism, noting that adequate funding, effective supervision and strong community cooperation are essential to prevent project delays or abandonment.
He expressed confidence that the completion of the projects would stimulate socio-economic activities, improve access to essential services and create employment opportunities, particularly for the youth.
Meanwhile, the Headmaster of Maame Krobo Community Day Senior High School, Prince Adonoo, expressed appreciation to the President and the government for the dormitory project, describing it as timely.
He said the new facility would ease accommodation difficulties faced by students and appealed for the posting of additional teachers to help improve academic performance.
The District Chief Executive for Kwahu Afram Plains South, Moses Tangmee, also expressed optimism that with the collective support of stakeholders, the projects would be completed as scheduled and deliver lasting development to the district.
