NDC opens nominations for Tamale Central parliamentary primary

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially opened nominations for its parliamentary primaries in the Tamale Central Constituency following the passing of the area’s Member of Parliament, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, in the August 6 helicopter crash that claimed eight lives.
In a statement signed by the Party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC announced that nomination forms will be available at the Party’s Northern Regional Office from Friday, August 22, to Sunday, August 24, 2025.
According to the guidelines, nomination forms will cost GH₵5,000, while filing fees have been set at GH₵40,000.
Female aspirants and persons with disabilities will benefit from a 50% concession on the filing fee.
A certified delegates’ list will be issued to aspirants after the vetting process.
Meanwhile, the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has disclosed that it will not contest the upcoming Tamale Central by-election, citing respect for the late MP
