Parliament of Ghana, through its Legislative Management Services (LMS), has launched the Practice and Procedure Week, an annual initiative aimed at deepening understanding and improving the application of parliamentary rules and procedures.

Themed “Strengthening Ghana’s Parliamentary Democracy: The Role of Practice and Procedure,” the week-long programme seeks to enhance institutional efficiency, transparency, and accountability within the legislature.

According to the Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga, the initiative will provide a structured platform for capacity building, peer learning, and review of parliamentary practices to ensure consistency and alignment with global democratic standards.

It will also engage Members of Parliament, staff of the Parliamentary Service, and key governance stakeholders in discussions, workshops, and simulations designed to reinforce best practices in legislative procedure and deliberation.

The introduction of the Practice and Procedure Week forms part of Parliament’s broader agenda to sustain and strengthen Ghana’s democratic governance by promoting professionalism, rule-based decision-making, and institutional integrity.
