Sam George asserts 'fake photos' of him watching adult film in parliament NPP ploy against him

Ningo-Prampram MP Samuel Nartey George has reacted to a false image of him watching an adult film during serious parliamentary proceedings.
The Minister-designate for Communications, Digital Technology & Innovations at the time the image went viral, he said it was part of a ploy by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to oppose his nomination and approval.
On the floor of Parliament yesterday, Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Samuel Abu Jinapor, MP for Damongo, alluded to the doctored image, rebuking Sam George. Later, however, he retracted and apologised after Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga drew his attention to the unverified nature of the image.
On Facebook, Sam George wrote, “It is clear to me that the NPP is so hurt by my nomination as Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations and would stop at nothing to fight it.
“After failing to mobilise their own Caucus in Parliament to vote against my nomination, they have resorted to smear campaign and cheap lies with fake photos.
“I can assure them that the days of misinformation and cheap fabricated lies are coming to an end. The Ministry would tighten regulations on such illegal conducts of misinformation and disinformation in the coming weeks and sanitise our media space.
“So help me God [lion and Ghana flag emojis].”
Meanwhile, Sam George has been approved by Parliament as the new Communications, Digital Technology & Innovations Minister.
“Late last night, I received approval from the @parliament.gh to be sworn in by H.E. @officialjdmahama as the next Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations of the Republic of Ghana,” he reacted on Facebook today.
“My deepest gratitude goes to my Colleague MPs who stayed late and worked hard to approve my nomination. I am indebted to the many Ghanaians who followed proceedings actively and lent their support through various fora.”
“I reiterate my commitment to serve His Excellency and our Nation to the best of my abilities. The sector needs major overhauls and I pledge to do the heavy lifting to RESET the digital space,” he assured.
