UE/R: Scores accompany Nabdam MP to file nomination
Member of Parliament (MP) for Nabdam constituency in the Upper East region Dr Kurt-Mark Nawaane has filed his nomination to contest the opposition National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) primaries.
Dr Nawaane was accompanied by scores of party supporters to file his nomination at the NDC’s office in the Nabdam District on Monday, 20 March 2023.
According to some supporters, their reason for supporting the MP was because of his continued efforts to improve the educational and health sectors, job creation for the youth, and his commitment to women and children’s growth in the constituency.
They noted that over the years, the MP has shown that leadership is about commitment and willingness to serve the people and not amassing personal wealth, hence they will return that loyalty to him come May, 13th 2023.
Speaking to Class 91.3 FM’s Upper East regional correspondent Moses Apiah after filing his nomination, the MP assured party sympathisers and the delegates that he will continue to support and improve the growth of the constituency.
“Being accompanied by 90 per cent of the delegates to file my nomination form at the party's office means a lot to me and I’m assuring them that, I will not disappoint them.
“We will collectively work to achieve the victory that we want. But I want to state that we need to be united to lead the NDC to victory come the 2024 elections,” he urged.
He stressed that: “No, campaign of insults will be allowed here.”
Meanwhile, one other aspirant has shown interest in contesting the Primaries of the NDC in the Nabdam constituency.
Acknowledging his opponent's efforts, Dr Nawaane further assured the constituency executives that if campaign commences for the incumbent MPs, he will ensure that his campaign team engages in a decent campaign devoid of insults and personal attacks.
