Sam George urges digital transformation and stronger Phobia fan engagement
The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Mr Samuel Nartey George, has held talks with the newly appointed executives of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club, as part of efforts to support the club’s revival and long-term growth.
The meeting took place on Monday, January 12, 2026, in Accra, with the club’s delegation led by the Chairman of the National Chapters Committee (NCC), Alhaji Yusif Abdulai.
During the engagement, the new leadership of Hearts of Oak presented their strategic plans for the club, outlining proposals aimed at improving supporter engagement, strengthening internal systems and mobilising funds to support club operations.
Mr. Samuel George commended the executives for their vision and encouraged them to work diligently towards restoring the club to its former glory.
He emphasised the importance of leveraging digital technology to enhance the club’s operations, particularly through the creation of a reliable digital database of supporters.
According to the Minister, a comprehensive supporter database would not only deepen fan engagement but also serve as a sustainable tool for fundraising and strategic planning.
He also underscored the need for improved training infrastructure, describing modern and well-equipped facilities as essential for the club’s long-term competitiveness and success.
