Energy Minister meets new WAPCo MD, reaffirms partnership in Ghana’s energy sector

The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has hosted a delegation from the West African Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo), led by its newly appointed Managing Director, Mr. Abiodun Bodunrin, who takes over from Ms. Michelle Burket.
The meeting focused on areas of mutual interest, particularly the pivotal role of WAPCo in Ghana’s energy sector and opportunities for future collaboration to strengthen gas supply and energy security.
During the discussions, Mr. Bodunrin reaffirmed WAPCo’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s energy transition and development goals, pledging continued partnership with the government to ensure stability and efficiency in the sector.
Minister Jinapor welcomed the new MD and commended WAPCo for its longstanding contribution to Ghana’s energy needs, stressing that the collaboration between the government and WAPCo will remain crucial as the country pursues sustainable energy solutions.
