Volta Rising: Region gears up for Ghana’s first round-the-clock trade fair

The 7th Volta Trade and Investment Fair will be officially be launched in Juapong today, Monday, August 25, 2025, heralding preparations for Ghana’s first-ever 24-hour trade fair.
The round-the-clock event is scheduled for November in Ho, Volta Region, however.
Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, explained that Juapong was chosen as the launch venue to showcase its potential as a business hub and to attract renewed investment attention to the struggling Volta Star Textiles Company.
Organisers say the decision to launch outside the regional capital underscored the fact that economic opportunities in the Volta Region extended far beyond Ho.
The main fair, set for November 26 to December 8, 2025, will be held under the theme “Volta Rising: Building Global Partnerships for a Thriving 24-Hour Economy.”
In a historic first, the fair will operate round-the-clock on designated days, blending trade exhibitions with tourism, culture, and entertainment.
Over the years, the Volta Fair has grown into a flagship public-private partnership platform, positioning the region as a competitive destination for trade, tourism, industry, and innovation.
Organisers say this year’s edition will be the most ambitious yet, combining investment promotion with cultural celebration.
Pre-fair activities include corporate fun games, the Visit Volta: Experience Ghana tour, and a tourism and culture essay competition for schools.
The main event will host major business gatherings such as the Volta Investment Summit, Women in Entrepreneurship Summit, Youth in Entrepreneurship Summit, ICT and Innovation Forum, and a packaging technology workshop.
Other highlights are the Ghana-India Business Dinner, Creative Arts Forum, Farmers Day celebration, and district-themed days. The fair is expected to attract participants from across Ghana as well as international delegations from Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Kenya, Namibia, India, Malaysia, and beyond, affirming its growing global appeal.
The 7th Volta Fair launch in Juapong marks the official countdown to what organisers describe as a groundbreaking edition of the Volta Trade and Investment Fair, designed to redefine regional investment promotion with its 24-hour model and diverse programming.
