D-Black’s BAM inks publishing deal with Sony/ATV Publishing

Musician and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Black Avenue Music (BAM) record label has announced, through social media, a successful partnership between his record label and Sony/ATV, an international music publishing company.
According to the ‘Vera’ hitmaker, the mega deal was a ‘BIG move’ for him, musicians nationwide and producers under the BAM record label.
Born Desmond Blackmoore, D-Black added that this publishing deal was the first step in his bid to ensure Ghanaian music is recognised globally.
He posted on social media on Wednesday, 3 June 2020: “This is a BIG move for not just me but for the entire country & the acts and producers on Black Avenue Muzik. I want to put Ghanaian music at the forefront of the Afrobeats global wave and this is just the first step with Sony/ATV.”
Sony/ATV Music Publishing is believed to be the leading global music publisher with a diverse catalogue of iconic songs by legends such as Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Lady Gaga, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and Kanye West among others.
The Ghana-based Black Avenue Music (BAM) record label has musicians and producers such as Sefa, Ms Forson, Ricchie Rich, DJ Breezy and Rony Turn Me Up.
