Domestic violence: It’s abuse not love; pack up your things, leave – Kwabena Kwabena

Singer-songwriter Kwabena Kwabena

“No person loves you who lays their hand on you to abuse you,” Kwabena Kwabena has asserted.

He spoke to Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo, Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

The Highlife star disabused the audience of the belief that marriage will reform an abusive partner.

He particularly advised women, saying, “The moment a man hits you, please, woman, end that relationship.”

The Afraid to Lose You hitmaker revealed he has “one daughter, and when, by God’s grace, it’s her time to marry, I have only one thing to tell her man: ‘If you cannot stay with her in peace, bring back my daughter. The day you hit her, I will come take her from the house myself’.”

Kwabena Kwabena rebuked abusive men, asking them “to bow down their heads in big shame”.

“It is not right. You cannot beat the woman and also sleep with her,” he stressed.

He asked women enduring domestic violence to “pack your things and go back to your father’s house”.
