A mum who ‘died’ for 27 seven minutes came back to life asking for a pen and paper. Tina Hines, who could barely speak, reached out for the notebook and immediately scribbled down a message: ‘It’s real’. She claims she saw heaven after her cardiac arrest, and when her loved ones asked her what the note referred to, she just nodded upwards. Tina went into cardiac arrest before going on a hike in Phoenix, Arizona, with her husband, Brian, last February. The mum-of-four was revived but went unconscious again before paramedics arrived.


In total, she had to be resuscitated six times before getting to hospital. For 27 minutes in total, she was effectively dead, her family told AZ Family. Describing what she saw, Tina said: ‘It was so real, the colours were so vibrant.’ She said she was able to see a figure she believes was Jesus standing in front of black gates, with a bright yellow light glowing behind.

Her niece Madie Johnson was so moved by the story that she had a copy of the near-illegible writing tattooed on her wrist as a reminder of her beliefs. Madie, of California, wrote on Instagram: ‘Her story is too real not to share and has given me a stronger confidence in a faith that so often goes unseen. ‘It has given me a tangibleness to an eternal hope that is not too far away.’
