Veep hails Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College for excellence in security training

The Vice President, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has commended the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) for its continued excellence in delivering high-level training to address both internal and external security challenges.

She made the remarks while serving as Guest of Honour at the joint graduation ceremony of the Senior Command and Staff Course 46, the Master’s in Defence and International Politics, and the Master’s in Security Studies programmes.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang praised the College’s role in hosting officers from sister African countries, stressing that such collaborations strengthen international relations and promote cross-cultural learning.

She also lauded the introduction of new programmes tailored to emerging global security threats, describing it as evidence of the institution’s responsiveness to modern challenges.

The Vice President reaffirmed the government’s support for the College under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, President John Dramani Mahama, noting that the administration remains committed to equipping the institution to deliver world-class defence and security training.

Addressing the graduates, she paid tribute to their families and communities for the sacrifices that contributed to their academic journey.

She urged the officers to serve with integrity, professionalism, and foresight, while encouraging them to uphold the bonds of friendship and cooperation forged during their training.

 

To the foreign graduates, she extended best wishes for safe travels back to their home countries, emphasising the importance of maintaining international ties in advancing global peace and security.
