Vice President mourns victims of military recruitment stampede

The Vice President of the Republic, Her Excellency Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic stampede that occurred during a military recruitment exercise, resulting in the deaths of six young Ghanaians and leaving several others injured.

In a statement released on Thursday and signed by Ama Pratt, the Vice President extended her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy and full recovery to those injured in the incident.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang called for calm among the public as authorities conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances that led to the tragedy.

She emphasised the need for urgent measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
