C/R: Man arrested for allegedly burying 80-year-old wife in bedroom at Twifo Nuamakrom
Residents of Twifo Nuamakrom in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region are in shock after a 44-year-old man, Kweku Charles, was arrested for allegedly burying his 80-year-old wife, Sofomaame Esther Bolu, also known as “Nigeria Woman,” in their bedroom for over two weeks.
Esther Bolu, the founder and leader of Miracles Prayer Centre, had been unwell, and her husband reportedly took over the church’s activities during her illness.
Following her death, Charles allegedly buried her in their home without informing anyone in the community.
The case came to light when neighbours and community members noticed that Esther had not been seen for more than two weeks.
When questioned, Charles claimed that she had been sent to Accra for medical treatment.
However, inconsistencies in his story raised suspicion, prompting further investigation.
Upon a subsequent confrontation, Charles attempted to flee, leading residents to discover the elderly woman’s body buried in their bedroom.
Community elders reported the matter to the Twifo Praso Police, who promptly arrested Charles.
Environmental officers have been ordered to exhume the body as police continue investigations into the circumstances surrounding the burial.
Charles remains in custody as authorities work to determine the full details of this shocking incident.
