Police recover stolen vehicle of Ablekuma West MP

The Ghana Police Service has successfully recovered a stolen Nissan pick-up truck belonging to Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West in the Greater Accra Region.
The vehicle was taken during a break-in at her office on December 9, 2024, amid post-election unrest following the December 7 polls.
Addressing the media on Thursday, December 12, ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs for the Ghana Police Service, confirmed the recovery and detailed ongoing efforts to address the situation.
“Through an intelligence-led operation, we recovered the stolen vehicle, which is currently in the custody of the Dansoman Police.
Investigations are ongoing to bring the perpetrators to justice,” she announced.
In addition to the vehicle's recovery, the police disclosed the arrest of 17 more suspects linked to post-election violence, raising the total number of arrests to 123.
ACP Ansah-Akrofi assured the public of the police’s determination to restore order and prosecute those responsible for the unrest.
“We remain resolute in maintaining peace and protecting lives and property,” she added.
The police continue to call on citizens to provide information that could aid investigations as they work to stabilize the situation.
