The Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation, Dr. Toni Aubynn, has once again demonstrated his commitment to youth empowerment in the Prestea-Huni-Valley Municipality by donating essential items to ten first-year Senior High School students from the area.

On Sunday, September 21, 2025, Dr. Aubynn, who also serves as the Abakomahene of the Damang Wassa Division of the Wassa Fiase Traditional Area, presented educational materials, including trunks, chop boxes, student mattresses, and GHC200 pocket money to each of the ten students from Damang Wassa and surrounding communities.

The donation was presented on his behalf by Mrs. Ruth Tachie Mensah, President of the Damang Chapter of Women’s Aglow, who emphasised that the gesture reflects Dr. Aubynn’s high regard for education and human resource development in the municipality.

Sharing his inspiring journey from Damang Primary School to becoming a prominent figure in Ghana’s mining, oil, gas, and business sectors, Mrs. Tachie Mensah encouraged the students to view education as the most effective tool for personal growth and wealth creation.

She urged them to emulate Dr. Aubynn’s hard work, discipline, and commitment, qualities that have made him a beacon of Ghanaian excellence and a leading figure in Africa’s mining industry.

Mrs. Tachie Mensah further advised the students to avoid laziness and indiscipline, remain focused on their studies, and strive for excellence. She assured them that Dr. Aubynn remains committed to supporting students who excel academically.

“Nana (referring to Dr. Aubynn) was born and raised in Damang, attended primary and secondary schools in Damang and Huni-Valley, respectively.

Through hard work, discipline, and dedication, he has consistently risen to the top,” she noted.

Highlighting Dr. Aubynn’s numerous contributions to human capital development in the area, Mrs. Tachie Mensah cited his role in the creation of the Goldfields Ghana Foundation, which has provided scholarships for many students.

She also mentioned his consistent support for schools in the municipality, including the donation of computers, books, and a piano to his alma mater, Huni Valley Senior High School.

In appreciation, parents of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for Dr. Aubynn’s timely support and prayed for his continued blessings.

They pledged to ensure their children make effective use of the materials to excel academically and become exemplary citizens like Dr. Aubynn.
