Chief fire officer inaugurates bushfire prevention stakeholders committee

The Chief Fire Officer, Mr. Julius A. Kuunuor in a brief ceremony at the National Headquarters of the Ghana National Fire Service inaugurated the 2023 Bushfire Prevention Campaign Planning Committee in Accra on Thursday, September 28, 2023.
The Committee which is being chaired by the Director Rural Fires, DCFO James Owusu-Agyei has representations from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Interior, the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Insurance Commission, the Ghana Meteorological Agency, the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Cocoa Board, NADMO, the Forestry Commission, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, GIZ-MOAP-NW, the Ghana News Agency and the Information Services Department.
According to Chief Fire Officer, Mr. Julius A. Kuunuor, the launching of the Bushfire Prevention Campaign is the next program in line among the series of programs and activities earmarked towards the 60th Anniversary Celebration of the GNFS and hence, has tasked the stakeholders to put their heads together as a team and come out with the appropriate solutions to the menace of the yearly destruction to Ghana's vegetation.
