Police launch manhunt for Adabraka market daylight robbers
The Ghana Police Service has announced an active manhunt for suspects involved in a daylight robbery that rocked Adabraka Market.
The incident occurred this morning, where heavily armed robbers struck a jewelry shop and seized large sums of cash in full view of stunned bystanders.
According to eyewitness accounts, the robbers arrived in a vehicle, brandishing guns and immediately firing several shots into the air to disperse the crowd.
Shoppers and vendors scrambled for cover, crouching behind stalls as gunfire echoed through the bustling market.
The robbers quickly forced their way into a parked Toyota containing bags of cash, swiftly loading the loot into their getaway vehicle.
In a statement, following the incident, the Ghana Police Service assured the public of its commitment to capturing those responsible for the attack.
"The perpetrators will be brought to book," the statement said.
The police are currently tracking leads in what has become one of the most high-profile market heists in recent memory.
