The digital gate didn’t open for the digital man – Mahama mocks Bawumia

John Mahama has commented on the electronic gate incident Dr Mahamudu Bawumia experienced at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
According to Mahama, the e-gate malfunction symbolised and exposed the lies peddled by Vice President Bawumia and officialdom.
Mahama spoke at a community engagement at Esaase Bontefufuo, Manso Nkwanta, Ashanti Region, today, Wednesday, December 4, 2024, as part of his final campaign ahead of Saturday's polls.
"The Digital gate didn't open for the digital man," the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer mocked.
Dr Bawumia yesterday commissioned e-gates at KIA, seeking to underline his unprecedented achievements in the digital space. He, however, was beset with embarrassment as the gate refused to open.
Mahama contended the pomp and pageantry put up at the commissioning of the e-gates at KIA was unnecessary, since e-gates are conventionally part of processes at airports across the world.
Former President Mahama using Dr Bawumia's famed words, mocked the latter further.
"You can do all the propaganda you want but if the fundamentals of your digitalisation are weak, the e-gate will expose you," he said.
