Speaker Bagbin donates medical supplies to support meningitis response in Upper West
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Kingsford Bagbin, has donated essential medical supplies to the Upper West Regional Health Directorate to support efforts to combat meningitis in the region.
The donation includes antibiotics such as Ceftriaxone, spinal needles, intravenous (IV) fluids, and Dexamethasone.
The supplies are expected to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of meningitis cases, particularly during periods of heightened outbreak risk in the Upper West Region.
Health officials say the items will strengthen the region’s emergency response capacity and improve patient outcomes by ensuring timely access to critical medications and diagnostic tools.
The gesture underscores Rt. Hon. Bagbin’s commitment to supporting public health interventions and bolstering healthcare delivery in vulnerable communities.
The Upper West Region is among the areas that periodically experience meningitis outbreaks, making the provision of essential medical supplies crucial to safeguarding lives and containing the spread of the disease.
