V/R: We need privacy in our pharmacies – Letsa

The Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, has said pharmacies and other health facilities must always continue to ensure privacy in their operations in order not to expose patients’ conditions to the general public.
According to the Volta Regional Minister, many pharmacies do not ensure any privacy at all such that patients' conditions are known to the general public even at the point of buying drugs.
This, Dr Letsa explained, is because: “The medicine I am buying is for Hypertension, or the medicine I am buying is for Diabetes, so, I have announced my condition to the general public.”
The Volta Regional Minister was speaking at the opening ceremony of Top-Up Pharmacy, Ho branch on Wednesday, 27 September 2023.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Top-Up Pharmacy, Dr Richard K. Odor, on his part, stressed his outfit’s passion for alleviating the suffering of people they come into contact with by providing affordable and yet good quality healthcare for all.
“Our overriding philosophy is to meet the total healthcare needs of our clients. This vision has led us into setting up a clinic, a diagnostic centre and a modern medical lab. We did not look up to the skies of profit or the valleys of pride when we took up this journey,” he noted.
He indicated that the company aspires to become a trusted healthcare partner for Ho and its neighbouring towns and village.
Dr Odor further noted that the company will continue to train and support educational and government institutions, deal with issues of health and expand its Corporate Social Responsibility to health facilities and other institutions in Ho and the Volta Region at large.
The ceremony was attended by health practitioners, traditional leaders and the general public.
