The ongoing 2024 elections have been disrupted by reports of missing names on the voter roll and malfunctioning biometric verification devices at polling stations nationwide, sparking frustration and delays.

At the Old Library polling station in the Ledzokuku Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, confusion erupted as several voters found their names missing from the electoral roll.

Similar complaints were reported in the Ablekuma Central Constituency, Madina, Tema among others raising serious concerns about the accuracy of the voter register, which was expected to undergo thorough verification before the elections.

Technical glitches also surfaced in Tamale Central and Wulensi, where malfunctioning biometric verification devices temporarily halted voting.

In Ledzokuku’s Faith Academy polling station, voting was completely stalled due to non-functional biometric equipment, leaving voters unable to cast their ballots.

The delays and disruptions have heightened tensions among affected voters, with many fearing disenfranchisement.

Polling officials, however, have urged calm, assuring the public that measures are being taken to resolve the issues.

Electoral Commission representatives at the affected stations are working to restore normalcy and ensure that every eligible voter has the opportunity to participate.

Despite these challenges, voters are being encouraged to remain patient as the election process continues.
