Black Queens ready to launch WAFCON 2026 campaign against Cape Verde
Ghana's Black Queens are set to kick off their 2026 CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) campaign on Wednesday, July 29 with a Group C clash against Cape Verde in Morocco.
After several weeks of intensive preparations including a productive pre-tournament training camp and a series of encouraging friendly matches, the Black Queens head into the tournament full of confidence.
Under the guidance of head coach Kim Lars Björkegren, the team is determined to make a winning start as they pursue continental glory.
The opening fixture will be played at the Moulay Rachid Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 17:00 GMT.
