Sports Minister calls for national prayer ahead of World Cup draw
As Ghana transitions from the calm of Thursday night into the significance of Friday, 5th December, the Minister for Sports and Recreation has urged the entire nation to unite in prayer for the Black Stars ahead of their upcoming World Cup tournament group draw.
In a statement released late Thursday, the Minister described 5th December as a uniquely meaningful day for Ghanaians, emphasising its symbolism of hope, renewal, and national togetherness.
He called on citizens across the country and abroad to devote a moment to pray for a favourable draw that will position the senior national team for success.
“As of the end of Thursday and entering into Friday, the 5th of December, which already is a special day in Ghana, let’s all remember and say a prayer for our senior national team, the Black Stars, to draw in a group that will give us a pathway to victory.
Our prayer counts, let’s join hands in prayer for a victorious draw"
Black stars stand on the edge of a crucial moment.
A favourable group will give Ghana a clear pathway to advance to the next stage in the World Cup.
Ghana is in Pot 4 alongside with Jordan, Cape Verde, Curacao, Haiti, New Zealand, and six countries from UEFA and Fifa play- offs.
The draw is scheduled to take place in Washington, DC's Kennedy Centre at 17:00 GMT
