Secretary General of the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), Mr Abraham Koomson, has expressed strong confidence in the government’s 'Resetting Agenda', describing it as a long-term strategy capable of repositioning Ghana for sustainable growth and development.

According to Mr. Koomson, the “Resetting Ghana Agenda'' being implemented by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration requires patience and collective commitment from citizens, as meaningful national transformation cannot be achieved overnight.

The agenda, championed by President John Dramani Mahama for the 2024–2025 period, is presented as a comprehensive framework aimed at restructuring Ghana’s economy, governance systems and social attitudes following years of economic challenges.

It seeks to restore public confidence in democratic institutions and leadership while promoting national renewal.

Key governance reforms under the programme include proposals to reduce the size of government, enforce stricter borrowing limits and establish an Independent Value for Money Office to strengthen accountability and combat corruption. The agenda also outlines plans for a forensic audit into the collapse of indigenous banks as part of broader financial sector reforms.

Speaking on Ahotor FM on Saturday, February 14, Mr. Koomson noted that the 'Resetting Agenda' extends beyond economic reforms to address issues of mindset, discipline and patriotism.

He stressed that fostering integrity and responsible citizenship is critical to ensuring lasting development and urged Ghanaians to support the government’s efforts.

While acknowledging that the full impact of the reforms will take time to materialise, Mr. Koomson said early indications suggest the initiative is beginning to yield results.

He expressed optimism that sustained implementation of the agenda will ultimately deliver tangible benefits to citizens.
